The things you learn...

See the photo that I put there to the left? Now just imagineer it with me instead of that dude. I've actually been in that place, I remember being in that exact place. Although, I don't remember getting the urge to make a dumb looking face and touch myself "down there" everytime someone took my photo like this guy...but I don't remember a lot of things. Appearently when I was on that boat I wasn't thinking "We're on a boat. We must be going to a place that can only be reached by boats. I think they call those places islands." I do remember what I was actually saying, "Oh my god! Nancy, take a photo of me leaning up against the railing with my arms spread out like this! Yes, I look exactly like Kate Winslett right? Jack! Look Jack! I'm flying Jack! Jen, take a photo of me and Nan both doing this. Oh my god, this is hilarious."

So it turns out that the UK is like, pretty much an island. I realize how stupid this makes me sound, not knowing (or perhaps just not realizing or remembering) that the UK is an island, but it makes me wonder what else am I forgetting? or not realizing or knowing?

Here's a map of the UK I've been from Calais (france) all the way up to Edinburgh (scotland). That's a pretty long trip, but at no time do I remember someone saying, "I just can't believe this is totally an island. We've been traveling for a week and are still totally on an island."

While we were stopped in Edinburgh one night we were walking along the coast of the North Sea. Sure, we were all saying how amazing the NORTH SEA was and how cold the NORTH SEA was when it splashed on our feet, but in my head, we were walking along the west coast of Europe. Everytime someone would say, "Wow! Look at the North Shore!" In my head it was, "Wow! Look at the North Shore!"
wow. I'm a genius.
