Today is Monday. We had the day off Sunday and, after settling in our dinky hotel with friendly bikers yelling greetings at us on Saturday night and a Sunday morning jog with Rachel, a large group of us traveled to the Alamo in San Antonio. The city of San Antonio looks incredibly beautiful, but we hardly saw any of it. We did a river ride called the Riverwalk in downtown San Antonio after touring the Alamo and seeing Deep Sea 3-D! at an imax movie theatre. Emily freaked out a little for the day because she is related to Davey Crockett; very cool...if you're into coon skin caps.
Friday night we were in Austin Texas. Josh and I went downtown to see the local life. We walked around 6th street and got to see some really incredible bands for free. It was a beer atmosphere, so I bought a few and slammed them back. (we were in a time crunch, but I longed to experience the whole thing with a beer buzz)
Saturday morning we drove to our venue in the hills of Austin, our performance venue was a small black box theatre in what was a renovated hillside house, really huge and really beautiful. We had some good looking helpers for loading out the van and loading in again. This was the first show that we needed to make adjustments for because of the stage. It was on a platform stage so we didn't use our walls or our marley. The kids still really loved the show, we got to meet them after our first show finished. Austin's hills are similar to California I am told. We shall see about that when we get to California.
Today we traveled to El Paso. All day in the van. la la. I'm not in the mood to write this right now. I was out late decorating the van with junk from the dollar store for Stephie's birthday tomorrow and hanging out with Patty, Kennan, and Rachel, we learned a little hip hop combo from kennan. Good fun times tonight with the cast.
Tomorrow we travel to Phoenix and stay with Scott and Jori. Awesome! No paying for the hotel! WEEE!!
It's getting really difficult to keep everything in my head from day to day. We're doing a lot...but a lot of the same thing in different places.
We leave Texas tomorrow for good. I have to say, Texas, in general, smells pretty good.
