It's our day off. I'm in the lobby of the hotel we are staying at sitting with Kalia in San Bernadino, which is surrounded by fire and we have no way of leaving because the van's are all getting serviced today. The woman at the front desk was making conversation with us, asking when the performance was, how long we were staying at the hotel, and where we were from...all while picking her nose. I'm not talking a simple inside the nostril scratch. I'm talking full out first joint in the nostril digging. Who picks their nose like that? It's so dangerous, first of all, but to do it in front of guests! Unbelievable! Hilarious!
Speaking of our van's being serviced, even if we had the use of them today, I don't know what we would do. This whole area is shadowed in a cloud of smoke from the surrounding blazing hills. The area we are staying in looks ghetto ghost town, there's nothing much to do and no one to look at except for a few prostitutes and stragglers on the streets. How do I know they are prostitutes? They keep getting into different cars. It's probably for the best, for us I mean, not the 'tutes. Why is it for the best, because this is the first day off we've had where we've had the whole day free. Not going to the alamo, or Disneyland, or six flags, or climbing a mountain. We've done some cool shit on our days off. Today we are doing NOTHING. Weird.
The area that was the first to set fire was an area in Malibu that we just left, the last blog I wrote was written in the area that is now on fire. All the video footage of the fire is recognizable to me. Which is nuts, because just a week ago it wouldn't have been. There are things that are no longer there that we got to see. The valley that is on fire was remarkably beautiful, and we drove through it three times while we were there. We played at Pepperdine University, which is now on fire. Every time we turn the television on, more fires have popped up. I think today was a little less windy and they may have been able to make some progress on containing some things. i have not watched the news yet today, so I may be wrong.
So the last time I wrote we were in Calabasas, after that we drove to Las Vegas.
We got into the Vegas hotel (we stayed at Hooters, classsss ;)) around 1200, cleaned up and went out to LAX. It's a nightclub in the Luxor. I met a french guy there named Dennis from Lille. He was there for business. I think. Rachel and I walked a very drunk long walk back to the Hotel. The next day we had off and we saw the Bellagio fountains and the kickass hotel lobby's and went to Zumanity in the evening. All of us were exhausted by the time we left the next morning for the show at the University. It was a two show day, both shows were manic and very fun. We crashed afterwards. Then we drove to Riverside and said goodbye to Josh, and hello to Anton, his replacement. We drove to Whittier, I can't remember a thing about it, so I must have been very tired. Then to LA where I got to see Tohper! Just for one evening, and not for very long, but it was so nice to see him, no matter how short the time. His bed was VERY comfortable. After that we headed to Thousand Oaks. A beautiful theatre, and a great hotel. We had two shows that day, one in the morning and one in the evening, with a rehearsal in between for Anton and the cast. I got to watch and clean the show, and finally realized how great our show is...it's magical.
The next day we drove to Azusa, got there early and had a nice evening in the hotel watching Knocked Up. The next day was Disneyland day. I spent the whole time being wheeled around in a wheelchair. The best ride was Californialand. Patty wheeled me around as fast as he could darting scarily close to people walking around. Great fun. That takes us to yesterday, when a 45 minute drive took 3 hours due to the fires and the traffic that they created. UGGH!
It smells like curry inside this lobby, and fire outside of it.

Hi, Megan! It's your stupid older (but not elderest) brother. I just remembered your blog site this evening and thought I post a "what-what" ... I'm so dumb. Just listening to some music on the ol' computador and, no, I didn't fart ... and I can't stop doing that ... I eat too much pepper with food on it ... is this making ANY sense? I'm so warped right now and it's only 8:30 in the PM.
So, in California, having a good ol' time with the hotel life ... hmmm... but maybe not... punctuation sucks... my keyboard, i think, has refused to use it.
Maybe you should invest in a fire-retreaded suit, so you don't have to inhale the Calif. forest smoke? Just a thought.
I wonder, does this blog site actually put blank lines between these paragraphs I'm typing the textbox thing I'm typing this in right now ... uh-oh ... another incoherent rambling.....
fart....
and how have the shows been going:?
do you mind that i just completely f-ed up your blog site with this incoherent, rambling post:? oh-weblll... there's always that stypid delete button... hit it, megan! hit it! yeah!!!
where's the show moving on to next? somehwere where the antelopes and the birsds aren't on fegueo (oh, however you spell that stpiud Espanol word)
that's enough...
no... wait... fart...
there... that's good...
Oh my god, I thought I was incoherent. I love you el granto! Did you mean fire retardant? I'm wearing a mask for the smoke, we all look like invalids. The shows have been going really well, our show last Friday night received a standing ovation...that's how magical it was after a good cleaning rehearsal. I love your incoherent rambling. We stay in California until Nov. 14th. hopfully the weather clears soon so we can keep enjoying the california sun.
