Video Games

I have a twin. It's awesome and it always surprises people when they find out and that makes me happy. Appearantly, it explains a few things about me. He's been playing video games since we were in elementary, so the only way I got to hang out with him was if I hung out around him while he was playing video games. So I LOVE IT when guys play video games. I am hardly ever in that atmosphere, but it's where I think the best. Which is weird, but also true.

I think this is something that I do that confuses guys and they will try to be nice and offer to let me play like they don't want me to feel ignored, which is very sweet, but I don't like playing. it's not because I don't like actually playing, I love playing video games by myself. It's just that when I play with boys the only way for me to keep up is by "button mashing." I have created some of the most magnificent moves via this strategy but always completely impossible to replicate. If you're a gamer, this past sentence has pissed you off a little, I know. and that's exactly what I'm talking about! I don't play because guys fucking HATE button mashing! If you are one of these guys you just yelled "Because it's cheating!" at the computer screen.

I want to start telling "you might be a ex nerdy video game player if.." jokes. I know them all because I lived them.

I remember when my brothers friend Brooks started calling when he "mastered" the game "accomplishing" the game. I thought it was weird that he was using military terms to define how he played video games. I don't think his dad was even in the military. Mastered just sounds more definite, like you conquered it or something more like that. Accomplishing a game just sounds like you ran a mile in your middle school track meat and came in 5th.
