I went out last night...

A friend of mine from South Dakota now lives in New York City. I was on tour when he first moved here and didn't start spending time with him until a couple weeks ago. He is fantastic. Now I understand the reason we went to prom together. He's hilarious, he's generous, he knows how to pretend but he knows what is real, and I love every moment with him.
Last night after finishing at an audition, I returned the keys to another friends apartment then headed to meet him at his SoHo store. We then walked the streets together until we found a random slab of concrete near Bowery and Houston and sat there for a moment and smoked. We then headed towards la esquina. There is a small cafe with a door that has a "no admittance" sign. there is admittance, and we went in it. Downstairs we drank modello negra on the couches in the bar and talked of the ridiculousness of new york and celebrity. After we had been sitting there for a while, more people joined us on the couches. Two guys, in particular, sat down next to us and drank flights of tequilla. They were actually lounging in the lounge. Before J and I left, I started chatting with them. One of them was a film maker in pre production for a feature film that he's making. the other was an artist from Providence RI. I'm not sure what he did exactly, but they were fun to talk to for a while.
We left and met some old friends on the street. We walked to a little french cafe, with overpriced over-flavored food. Our friend has new boobs, her boyfriend bought them. We laughed as we tried to picture that conversation. "remember when you mentioned three years ago that you wanted boobs? Well these three years have been great, but they would have been even better with boobs. So what do you say?" We laughed for a while about this subject. The cafe didn't take any cards but american express (fucking weird) and luckily we had enough cash to cover the bill. I owe that girl dinner the next time I see her. I hope to see her again.
We found the girls a cab, and sent them away. Next we walked to find J's appointment for the next morning, smoked a little more on the sidewalk and went towards the subway. I left him there, and headed to meet a couple more friends having a drink at the big bar on 7th. I don't remember much of what was said at this bar as my head was spinning. I left after an hour or so to go home.
When I finally reached home, I put on the breakfast club and fell asleep to the sounds of angsty young delinquents arguing who has it worse.
a good night.
